Top Performer Model

KeyThe single greatest determining factor of performance is compatibility. Much like a key in a lock, a franchisee unlocks the door to success when he or she fits well within a franchise system.  In turn, their success opens the doors to your success.

How do we determine "fit" or compatibility? In a similar fashion as we might replicate our house key. One might call it reverse engineering.  Your current top performing franchisee offers great insight into the attributes one must have to fit within your franchise system.  Thus, assessing, measuring and quantifying those qualities provide a means to recognize prospective franchisees and their capacity to be top performers.

Some of those qualities or distinctions include: Values, Prime Directives, Business Styles, Focus Preference, Core Competencies, Meta Programs and Risk and Resources. Noodle Metrics offers three Top Performer Models.

When replicating a key; the locksmith starts with the greatest determining factor of fit: the size and basic shape of the key. This we might liken to the value system and prime directives of your franchisee. Secondly, he determines the key codes and either begins to punch the key with each code or traces the code onto your duplicate key.  The key codes are reflective of the individual franchisees business style, focus, competency and meta programs.

Obviously, the more precise the codes the better the distinctions you have to make intelligent franchisee selection decisions.

Some franchise systems think the key to success for a franchisee is money and core competency. Although, both are part of the coding towards success if we haven't selected the right size and shape (value systems and prime directives) no amount of money or skill sets will produce a top performer.  In fact, a better fit would be to find someone with compatible values and prime directives and then shape, trim and educate them to develop the core competencies. Skills can be learned; money can be acquired. Values and Motivations (directives) on the other hand an undeniable and steadfast indictor of compatibility and fit.
